Deborah Gressly Obituary

Uncasville - Deborah "Debbie" Lee (Stonfer) Gressly, 72, peacefully departed this life June 13, 2024, at her home in Uncasville, to be with the Lord Jesus. She was born Feb. 25, 1952, in North Charleroi, Pa., to Shirley and Donald Stonfer.

Debbie, alongside her husband Paul, dedicated their lives to running a daycare and fostering children from 1994 to 2014. They opened their hearts and home to a total of 67 children, many of whom reached out later in life to express the profound impact Debbie had on them. She was a beloved member of the Norwich Assembly of God community, finding solace and strength in her faith. Debbie enjoyed fishing on local lakes in her little Jon boat, sewing (fondly known as the "animal hospital" for her grandchildren and their stuffed animals), and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Paul; her children: Paul (Summer) and Donald (Heather) Gressly, Dawnyell (Michael) Hatchett and Nicole Gressly (Brandon McNulty); her cherished grandchildren: Sage and Sienna Gressly, Madison, Dylan, and Chloe Gressly, Iain and Madelyn Hatchett and Raymond McNulty.

In honor of Debbie's memory, contributions can be made to Hospice Care, 227 Dunham Street, Norwich, CT 06360 or Norwich Assembly of God, 340 New London Tpke, Norwich, CT 06360. A memorial service will not be held as per her wishes. Debbie will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

To the Family, I am truly very sorry for our loss. Debbie started out as my babysitter and quickly became a lifelong friend. I am thankful I got to text her and said I loved her before she departed. SIP my friend
