Donald Kondash Obituary

Uncasville - Donald J. Kondash, 80, of Uncasville, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, Aug. 29, 2025. Born Jan. 22, 1945, Don grew up in Waterford, where he was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Drango, whom he cherished deeply.

He was retired from the Connecticut Army National Guard and SUPSHIP in Groton. Don was a proud Eagle Scout and longtime troop leader with Boy Scout Troop 60.

His love for the outdoors carried into adulthood, where he became a master gardener and found great joy in tending to his gardens. He was part of the Ye Olde Lebanon Towne Militia 1775 where he enjoyed reenacting history with friends.

Don was predeceased by his beloved wife, JoAnn Kondash. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Christin Kondash; two granddaughters that he was very proud of, Allie and Taylor Kondash; his sisters, Margaret Daniels and Roseann Martell and their families; and his brother, Cyril James Byrd and family.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.
