Dorothy Avery Obituary

Bristol - Dorothy Avery, 76, of Bristol, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Sheriden Woods.

Dorothy was born on Jan. 15, 1937, in Bristol, the daughter of the late Louis and Florence (Swanson) Avery. She was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. Her biggest love in life was her four grandchildren, Courtney, Avery and Chloe Barlow and Emma Avery.

She is survived by her son, Dale Avery and wife Daria, of Harwinton; her daughter, Jody (Johnson) Barlow and husband, Scott, of Quaker Hill; her sister, Shirley Avery of Bristol; and nephew, Ted Avery of Plymouth.

She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Avery Jr.; and the recent passing of her sister, Francess Avery.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Asbury Church in Forestville.
