Douglas Gonsalves-O'Brien Obituary

Winter Springs, Fla. - Douglas "Doug" Gonsalves-O'Brien passed away Sunday Feb. 2, 2025. He was the son of Roland and Theresa Gonsalves.

He grew up in Salem, and was a graduate of East Lyme High School. His first job was Burnett's Landscaping in Salem. He followed his love of horticulture and opened his own business in Florida. He worked for Brightview Commercial Landscapers as an account manager for many years. He will be most remembered for his quick-wit and contagious laughter. He was a wonderful father. He loved fishing, if there was a body of water around, he probably fished it. He was always searching for the perfect catch.

He married his soulmate Glomarie Echevarria-Turner in November of 2024. They loved to travel together.

He leaves behind Glomarie; along with his three children, Austin, Casey and Curtis O'Brien; his two sisters, Jennifer Petrizzi and Dana Tyler; his two brothers-in-law, Jim Petrizzi and Daniel Tyler; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Roland Gonsalves. He will be incredibly missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held in the month of May. Please contact Judy Teel at [email protected] or on Facebook Judy Gordon Teel for more information.
