Edward Earl "Eddie" Chambliss III

Waterford - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edward "Eddie" Earl Chambliss III, who left this world far too soon June 24, 2025, at the age of 37. Born and raised in Corpus Christi and League City, Texas, Eddie carried a deep love for his roots and a curiosity for the universe beyond.

A proud and devoted servicemember, Eddie served in the United States Navy for 12 years, building a legacy of dedication, integrity and leadership. He had plans to retire from the Navy, a path he followed with honor and purpose.

Eddie had an unmistakable light about him - a playful, goofy personality that could lift the mood of any room. He was passionate about music and spent countless hours composing and playing, often filling his home with the sounds of creativity and soul. He was also fascinated by astronomy and world history, always seeking to understand the stars above and the stories behind us.

Above all, Eddie was a devoted husband and an extraordinary father. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Way Chambliss; and his cherished daughters, Ayla Elizabeth Chambliss and Beni Annette Chambliss, who were the center of his world. His legacy will live on in their laughter, strength and dreams. He is also survived by his loving parents, Edward Chambliss Jr. and Annette Chambliss; and his sister Shelby Marie Chambliss Tolbert, who will always remember Eddie's humor, heart and unwavering love.

Eddie's presence will be missed beyond words, but his memory will be honored and cherished forever by those who knew him and loved him deeply.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at the Niantic Baptist Church, 443 Main Street, Niantic. Interment will follow in Jordan Cemetery, Boston Post Road, Waterford. There are no calling hours. Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic is assisting the family with the arrangements.
