Edward was a devoted husband, father, sibling, friend, and a remarkable man who touched the lives of many. His unwavering kindness, generosity, and compassionate spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. He dedicated his life to his family, always putting their needs first and providing them with love, support, understanding and guidance.
Growing up in Stonington Borough, Edward's childhood was spent playing with his siblings, going to the beach, his grandfather's candy store, fishing and jumping off the docks at Waylands Wharf.
After graduating from Stonington High School, Edward proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he developed a strong sense of discipline and work ethic. He went on to earn a business degree from Johnson & Wales University, which led to a successful career with the Department of Defense. His job required frequent travel to the Middle East, and during this time, he and his family made the life-changing decision to move to Bauschheim, Germany. It was there that they experienced some of the happiest moments of their lives, traveling throughout Europe and creating cherished memories together. Although he and his family traveled extensively, Edward was a true New Englander and always said there was no place as beautiful as Stonington and was happy to return there permanently with his family.
In addition to his career, Edward had a wide range of hobbies that brought him joy. He volunteered at the Portuguese Holy Ghost Society, was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, loved trading stocks, cooking, and listening to music. He had a passion for traveling and enjoyed wandering through the quaint side streets of the places he visited, appreciating the charm and character of each place.
Edward was an incredibly strong man, who fought until the very end to stay with his family. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the joy and love he brought into our lives.
Funeral services and burial will be held privately.
