Mr.Andrews "Daddy Andrews" was like a father to me. Sophmore year at Haverhill High a month into the school year we had developed a strong relationship where it was just decided then and there that he was my "Father".I didn't have a father figure in my life until Ernie. I would bring him in food almost every day and a couple of free periods I had I would go chill with him in his room. We were able to talk to each other like we had known each other forever. At the end of sophomore year I was going to be moving over the summer and the last day I hugged him and told him that I would miss him and he told me not to worry that id see him even if I moved no matter how far because he was my father and whatever it took we would always keep in touch. The last time I saw Ernie was in November around Thanksgiving. Contact was scarce after me moving which is what I had expected but the contact we had when we had it was amazing and I will forever hold it in my heart. When i saw the go fund me page it broke my heart and soon after reading that he had passed on totally broke my heart but I had to remember as I sat in front of a computer at school sobbing that he will always be with me and will always be my "Daddy Andrews" I write letters to him remembering the good times the bad times and all he helped me through all we talked about and how he will forever be Daddy Andrews to me. Miss You R.I.P and I hope make you pround with what i have and continue to do in life and i hope to see you soon. Love You!

Many years have gone by, but we remember that smile! Ernie was a part of our lives, and his passing brings both sorrow and joy (sorrow for ourselves and those left behind; joy for those reunited in our Lord's presence). Praying that our Lord Jesus Christ will uphold the family at this time, and give you a peace that passes all understanding!

It was a privilege to have worked shoulder-to-shoulder with Mr. Andrews this year. Though the experience was brief, the memory will last a life time. On behalf of Periods 1 and 7, I count it all "joy" to have learned, laughed, and taught in the same space as Ernie.

The world wasn't worthy of the life that he lived. In every memory I have of this man he was cheerful and full of life. As painful as it is to see him go, I am grateful that there is a place where he is at peace in the presence of God. We'll see that smile again and in that day we'll never have to say goodbye again. My deepest condolences to the Andrews family, may God give you hope and peace in this difficult time of mourning.

I want to start by sending my sympathies to Ernie's family. I knew Ernie and worked with him at Tyl Middle School from 1997-1999. If you needed a smile, he always had on to share, if you needed to hear a kind word, he always had one to say. i am grateful to say I knew Ernie and that he was my former coworker and friend and he made a HUGE impression in my life and that of my, then, young kids. He helped me to find my way again when I needed direction! Thank you Ernie!

Word are hard to come by. How do you explain the loss of such a wonderful human being. I know first hand of his caring for his students, My daughter was so very lucky to have him for a teacher friend and even as a father figure. He helped so many and touched so many lives. My hope is that his family realizes that each of us hopes to make a difference in this world and He Mr Andrews truly did. My God give you comfort during this time.

My condolences to the Andrews family. Mr. Andrews was my daughter's ELA teacher at STMMS @ BDJMS. From the first day I met him at Open House with his gravitating smile and personality, I knew my daughter was going to have a good year. Sure enough at the next conferences my daughter's MAP scores had improved that she no longer needed special education services in LA and has continued to improve. It was always a pleasure to speak with him and know he was a teacher with passion who wanted to share that with his student. Since I can't tell you at the next conference, Thank You Mr. Andrews for being that teacher with passion and making that difference in her life of boosting her confidence in knowing she can do better! May you rest in paradise!!

Mrs. Andrews and entire Family,

"But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus." 1 Thes. (4:13,14). Just think when Jesus return with His Saints, Ernie will be in the midst with that big smile and big heart.

My deepest heartfelt condolences with all sincerity and love.

I saw Ernie & Regina a few years back after he had returned home from MA to help care for his mom. We reminisced about the old days. I remember when we would all sit in a school bus hanging out and chatting. There were MANY drivers and many children. . Even back then the kids would gravitate towards Ernie, and him to them. He was a kind hearted man with a larger than life smile. He has left a lasting impression on many. My thoughts are with his family.

Ernie had a heart of gold and a smile that beamed from ear to ear. A true gem of the society. I never saw Ernie mad, always caring for everyone around him. You always felt good after speaking with him, whether at the dental office or a quick hello at the Dollar store.
My deepest condolences to the entire Andrews family. God opened his gates too early. As the song goes, "Only the good die young.". Ernie was GREAT and will be missed. R.I.P.Ernie

Ernie, I still can't believe you're gone from this earth. Your love, your smile will always be forever in my heart. The father figure Brandon loved so very much. He's never lost those values, and he's an amazing father now.
Ernie, God has welcomed His most perfect Angel into His Kingdom. My prayers for your mom, Eli, Piper and your sisters are for comfort. May God wrap his loving arms around them, and somehow start to lessen the pain in their hearts. And for your nieces and nephews who have known your love and guidance throughout their lives.
We are so blessed to have known you, and shared your life. I believe that every person who has been touched by you, is a much better person for it.
Ernie, I love you, I miss you. I am so very grateful for you. ❤

Although I did not know Ernie Andrews that well, I do remember him substituting in my first grade class at Winthrop Elementary in New London when my first grade teacher was out a couple days because she had to take care of her husband who was sick. Ernie had a very pretty smile and was always smiling when I saw him substitute for my first grade teacher a couple times in the past. Never saw him mad or angry he always had a :-) on his face. Was in shock and so sad and devastated when I heard the sad news that Ernie Andrews passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on 1/31/2017. It was just too soon for him to leave this Earth because he was only in his early 50's. :-( I will always remember Ernie with a smile on my face because I remember him smiling in school on the days he covered for my first grade teacher way back in 1993 and saw how great he was with children. After that I had not seen and talked to him in years but noticed on his Facebook Page he looked the same as I remembered in all his pictures on FB. Can't believe Ernie is no longer with us, that's just awful what happened to him. :-( & My Heart goes out to his family at this difficult time and his untimely death. & I'd also like to say to his relatives and everyone else that knew him well like close friends " Sorry for your loss, he was a good man".

Mr Andrews was an amazing person. He was one of the few teachers that actually cared about his students and wanted what was best for them. He was always there to talk when we needed someone to listen and never turned anyone away that needed him. He did a lot of good and touched so many people that will never forget him.
