She was born in Syracuse, N.Y., on Aug. 11, 1949, the daughter of Bernard and Eleanor Wheat Gillette.
Gail married Paul R. Gross on Dec. 9, 1972 in Cazenovia, N.Y.
Gail was a student at Three Rivers Community College and also had worked at Wal Mart in Groton. She was a member of the Stedfast Baptist Church in Groton and was an avid reader, conversationalist and jigsaw and crossword enthusiast.
Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Heather Raph, her husband Sheldon and daughter Eleanor of Norwich, Sara Gross of Groton and Megan Pratt of Westerly, R.I.; a son, Douglas Wilson of New London; and two brothers, Rocky and Mark Gillette of Abilene, Texas.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the Stedfast Baptist Church, 1041 Poquonnock Road, Groton. Interment will be in Starr Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 5 until 8 o'clock this, Thursday, evening.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Franklin Commons, 106 Rte 32, Franklin, CT 06254.
Byles-Groton Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

I pray for all of you in this time of mourning. I did not know, or spend time with Gail as much as I would have liked. I do however know that she was a great woman who loved and cared for her family and friends more than words can say. I am sure she is still doing the same...just from heaven.
