George Pack Obituary

Mystic - George Bartol Pack Sr. passed peacefully in his sleep Feb. 10, 2025. He was born to Bertha and Rufus Pack April 19, 1928, in Camden, N.J.

While stationed at the Submarine base in Groton he met the love of his life, Mary Gonsowski. They were married Oct. 18, 1947 and lived most of their lives on Krug Road in Preston in the house George built himself. Mary and George loved living amid the Gonsowski family farm where they tended their many gardens with care.

George retired from United Nuclear Corporation, was a member for Life of Preston City Fire Department and founding member of St. Catherine's Church in Preston.

He leaves behind his children, George Jr., Steven (Dorren) Pack, Susan (Tom) Theve; granddaughter Marissa Theve; sister Mary Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Gonsowski Pack; granddaughter Janine Theve; and sister Betty Holloway.

The Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home, Jewett City, has been entrusted with the private arrangements. For online condolences please go to www.gagnefuneralhome.com.
