Gerald Newton Obituary
He was born in Montville, on Sept. 14, 1938, the son of Morton E. and Alice (Boska) Newton.
Gerald was married to Elizabeth Murray on April 22, 1967, in Groton.
He graduated from Norwich Free Academy, Class of 1956, and worked as a management analyst at the Naval Underwater Systems Center.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Jane Doyle and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St. Interment will be private.
Donations in his memory may be directed to either the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or the Patients Recreation Fund, Fairview, 235 Lestertown Road, Groton, CT 06340.
