Gordon Tuthill Obituary
Gordon was born in Gotham Hospital and lived in New York City until he was 8 years old. His family moved to Connecticut where his father owned a spring water company and also several real estate offices. Gordon attended St. Joseph School and New London High School. He began his college years at Worcester Poly Tech and finished at the University of Connecticut, where he was the Cadet Colonel of the ROTC. He joined the Army after college and served as a general's aide in peace time Korea. He returned to the University of Connecticut to earn his MBA.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lu; his son, Brad and daugher-in-law, Lynn; his daughter, Kathleen; three grandchildren; his brother, Bruce and Sandy Tuthill; his sister, Madge Stephen DeSalles; along with 23 nieces and nephews; and 19 grand nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations be sent to New Direction for Veterans, 11404 Whilshire Blvd., VA Building #116, Los Angeles, CA 90073 or Loyola High School, 1901 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90006.

Gordon helped our family through the passing of our father, Thomas Joyce. I was so young but I was glad he was there and I know that my family appreciated all he did for us. I know that he and my father are up there cracking jokes and looking down us. Mary Lu, Bradley and Kathleen I am sorry for your loss, he will be missed.

So many fond memories of Mr. Tuthill! The one I cherish the most is the way he helped my family through the loss of my father, so many years ago. We had the privilege of meeting Mary Lu and Gordon a little over five years ago, when we became their neighbors, fellow parish members and friends. Gordon was always a kind and comforting presence. We are certain that he was a holy man who deservedly is now among the saints and angels admiring and praising the Most Holy Trinity for the ages of ages.

I have been blessed with no shortage of Brothers-In-Law but Gordon was unique. Gordon never met a stranger. He worked the room about as well as anyone I've ever known. We always thought Gordon missed his true calling, stand up comedian. He was one of the funniest individuals I've ever known and his Paul Lynde imitations were the best. Gordon will be missed by all who knew him and loved him especially his immediate family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Tuthill family. Gordon now has a whole new audience to entertain. I know he is up to the challenge!
