Heather Grillo Obituary
Heather attended Waterford schools and worked at various restaurants in the area until she married Pete and moved Hawaii. Heather had a passion for dance. She studied at The Dance Studio under the direction of owner Gail Navin. She began dancing at age three and grew to be an admired, beautiful dancer. Music and dance were deep in her soul; and she believed it could heal the heart.
Heather and Peter started a commercial fishing business called Atlantic Pacific Tuna, started in Hawaii and then moved to San Diego. Together they owned two boats, "The Heather G" and "The Anthony G."
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her stepfather Gordon "Smitty" Beals; two stepsisters, Deb Wiseman and Cathy Gonyo; as well as multiple aunts, uncles and cousins; and her two fur babies, Neptune and Matilda.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic. Please visit www.neilanfuneralhome.com to leave the family an online condolence. Because of her deep love of dogs, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal rescue center.
