Hendrick Facas Obituary
He was born in New London June 2, 1942, the son of Anthony and Virginia Palm Facas. Hendrick was married to Gail Bowen in 1971.
Hendrick graduated in the class of 1961 from New London High School. He served in the Connecticut National Guard and was employed as an ultrasound technician at Electric Boat Company retiring in 2010.
He was a member of St. Ann Church, the VFW, American Legion, Moose Club, and the Polish Club. He enjoyed spending summers at the beach, gardening, fishing, boating and vacations with family.
Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Hendrick Facas II and wife Melissa of Manchester; his daughters, Anissa Starr and husband David of Lisbon, and Sabrina Walker and husband Edward of East Hartford; seven grandchildren, Logan and Kody Starr, Ariel and Mason Walker, Katyland and Hendrick Facas, Samantha Farewell; as well as one great-grandchild Alora Estep; and a close family friend, Ida Parker. He was predeceased by his brothers, Abdo and Anthony Facas Jr.; and his sister Anne Sicard.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 21, at St. Ann Church. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. Visiting hours will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Friday, at the Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be directed to St. Ann Church, 41 Cross Road, Waterford, CT 06385. Please visit www.byles.com to sign the guest book or share a memory with the family.
