She was born on Oct. 28, 1922 in New London, the daughter for Enrico and Elisa Grandoni.
She married the late Lawrence J. Silva, of New London, on Sept. 25, 1948 at St. Joseph's Church, New London.
Inez was employed for 15 years at Quaker Hill School and retired as a clerk from the Outlet Co. department store in New London.
She was a member of the Waterford Seniors and a member of Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church in Quaker Hill. She enjoyed going to the Waterford Senior Center for lunch, hiking and to volunteer. Inez also loved to dance. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Inez is survived by Marie O'Neil of Waterford, her loving, devoted sister and closest of friends with whom she shared life's great joys and challenges. Marie stood by Inez, caring for her with the love and compassion only a sister can give, until the day of her passing. Her kindness and devotion is greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.
She also left five children, Barbara Zito of Waterford, Lawrence J. Silva Jr. of Quaker Hill and his wife, Carol, Peter J. Silva of Quaker Hill and his wife, Edna, Dennis P. Silva of Oakville, Canada and his wife, Rose, and John. H. Silva of Riverview, Fla., and his wife, Denise. She also leaves behind a very caring nephew, James Fafalla, and his wife, Ann, of Old Lyme, as well as, nine grandchildren, Elisa Parks, Christine Horne, Jennifer Zito, Holly Silva, Allison Silva, Lauren Silva, Michelle Silva, Sarah Silva and Laura Silva; and six great-grandchildren, Chas Parks, Morgan Parks, Lauren Horne, Julliana Horne, Emma Zito and Zoe Zito.
The funeral will assemble at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 21st, at the Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington Street, New London and proceed to an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Quaker Hill. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Huntington Disease Society of America, 505 8th Avenue, New York, NY 10018, www.hdsa.org.
