Jacqueline Campisi Obituary

Jupiter, Fla. - The very beautiful, compassionate and generous light that was Jacqueline Campisi made its transition into the ether and joined all the conscious energy of the Universe on Jan.14, 2017, at 11:08 a.m. Jackie was born May 29, 1964, and was 52 at the time of passing. It was a Saturday in south Florida and the sun was bright and warm with a gentle tropical breeze blowing out of the Caribbean, which carried her into her next life. She was not afraid to go, and her beautiful undeterrable spirit had her smiling right up to her last breath.

She had begun her fight with cancer ten years earlier and was determined to overcome it. The journey led her across North America and connected her with researchers, practitioners, authors and like-minded souls in the holistic health movement. The knowledge she gained turned her stage 4 cancer diagnosis of six months into living ten extraordinary "quality of life" years! With her collective knowledge, she helped others to overcome their illnesses and to thrive. In her final months she organized a fund with U.S. Stem Cell and was able to help many receive this cutting edge therapy. Those ten vibrant years allowed her to connect with thousands of people, creating positive change in health care and dramatically impacting individuals, families and friends.

Jackie was an optometrist by education. She founded, owned, and operated Visions Sight and Learning Center of Mystic. She developed the practice into one of the top performing optometric practices on the East Coast. She brought cutting edge technologies into the standard of care. She treated her patients holistically with great success and became admired, respected and loved by her patients. She was a great success by any measure. After her diagnosis she was forced to close Visions Sight and Learning Center, but was fortunate enough to be welcomed by Dr. Mary Beaulieu into Professional Opticians of Waterford, where she finished out her career in optometry.

Jackie spent the last two years of her life in Jupiter, Fla. Working directly with Dr. Janet Hranicky, the founder of CCWP (Comprehensive Cancer Wellness Program), Jackie spent countless hours educating and working with late stage cancer patients, bringing hope for recovery to hundreds of families.

Jackie is survived by her partner in everything of 15 years, best friend, business partner and ultimately her caregiver, Greg Culver. Also her parents, Bertha and Frank Campisi, her son, Avery Oefinger, and all those whose lives she touched.

There will be a Celebration of Life party for Jackie from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on June 4, at the Mystic Marriott in Groton.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Even at a tender age, Jackie was a beacon of kindness and compassion for others. She will certainly be remembered as such.

My deepest condolences to Mr & Mrs Campisi, Jimmy and all of Jackie's loved ones on the loss of such a beautiful soul. I hadn't seen Jackie since high school but it's obvious she remained the beautiful, gentle, compassionate and bright light woman I knew. She clearly touched many lives in all the best of ways. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have such wonderful memories of your family.
