James Coon Obituary

North Stonington - James Laurence "Larry' Coon Sr., 77, of Reutemann, Road, North Stonington, died suddenly Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Christensen) Coon. Born in Westerly, R.I. Jan. 11, 1947, he was the son of the late John and Hazel (Sharp) Coon.

Besides his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, he will be sadly missed by his three children, James Laurence Coon Jr. (Audra) of Barrington, N.H., Christine Jessop (James) of Mystic, and Daniel Kenyon of Fort Myers, Fla. He also leaves his brother George Coon of Pawcatuck; and his sister Dorothy Gurnee of North Stonington. He was the loving grandfather of seven; and great-grandfather of four.

Im so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I meet him seven years ago when I opened my Farmstand. (Kadys) He would come in a couple of times a week. I truly enjoyed our conversations. What a pleasure it was to have known him. I'll miss him dearly. Thoughts and prayers to Jean ( his Bride he would call you) and family.

Mac & Carol

So very sorry to hear this. I've known Larry since 1st Grade. He worked with Mac for a bit years ago and we got reunited again at a Car Show down at the beach one evening. Had such a good time with him & Jean playing "Yatzee". Will never forget the night he won 4 Yatzees in one game. He was a great guy and we love Jean as well. Great couple! God bless you Larry and may God be with you & your family in the days ahead Jean. Love you ...
