James Joseph "Jim" Moulton

1973 - 2023

Manchester - James Joseph "Jim" Moulton, 51 years, of Manchester, formerly of Mystic, passed away suddenly of a heart attack Friday July 7, 2023.

Mr. Moulton owned and operated his own business, Moulton Sound, which provided audio setup for various musical performers. His love for music began at the age of 12; he was a talented bass player and classical guitarist. He transitioned into becoming a sound technician due to him being defiant when other people were bosses. He started doing the sound more when he was 16. Then in 1992, Jim and his family decided that he needed to create a legitimate business; so with the help of his family, he created Moulton Sound in Mystic. Eventually, he moved Moulton Sound to Manchester, and made numerous friends in the music industry.

He was born Jan. 3, 1972, to Josephine Salvagna Moulton and James Moulton of Mystic. Jim was 359 days younger than his twin sisters, Donna and Diana Moulton, both of Mystic, making him an Irish Triplet. He never liked to be alone.

Due to his defiant attitude, he earned a GED from Fitch Senior High School after attending night school, because his sisters wouldn't allow him to quit school. He was able to graduate with his class.

He is survived by his sisters, Donna Moulton and Diana Moulton; and a long-time girlfriend, Jen.

Everyone who truly knew him and loved him will truly miss him.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life gathering from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Avenue, New London. Interment will be private.
