James Mumford Obituary

Northfield - James Michael Mumford, 81, of Brackett Lane, passed away unexpectedly at home Saturday, March 1, 2025.

James was born May 4, 1943, in Newport, R.I., the son of Elizabeth Mumford.

James was a proud United States Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed welding and started his own welding business in the late 1960s. James loved his orange 1977 Ford F-350, multiple cups of Foldgers coffee, and watching AMC. He enjoyed being around his grandchildren and spending time up at his welding shop. James also enjoyed playing table games with his daughter and telling her how she could cook better.

James is survived by his son Jim Mumford; daughter Deborah Dean and her husband Steve of Northfield; two grandsons, Vernon Lanphear of Laconia and Bryan Lanphear of Northfield. James had four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Leo, Jaxon and Axel. In addition to his mother, James is predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda (Poole) Mumford; a brother, and a sister.

Calling Hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
