Jean Foster Obituary
Jean grew up in Niantic with Marjorie and her brother Robert. She attended schools in Niantic and New London. She married her husband Bob April 7, 1951, and settled in East Lyme to raise their three boys while working as bookkeeper for the family business, Foster Construction Company for many years,
When not at home working in her gardens, or yard sale-ing or bowling, she and Bob embarked on many great adventures traveling with friends on the My Way, Bob's boat, and skiing out West and mainly in Vermont, a place of great enjoyment for them.
Jean is survived by her children: Butch (Mary) Foster, Richard (Carline) Foster and Donald (Rena) Foster. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Steven, Ryan, Ben, Joseph, Hillary and Bryce; two great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Lily; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic, Interment will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct.25, at St. Mary's Cemetery in New London. A Celebration of Life for Jean and Bob will follow at 1 p.m. at Old Orchard Farm, 22A Scott Road in East Lyme. please visit www.neilanfuneralhome .com to leave the family an online condolence.
