Jeanne Disch Obituary

Norwich - Mrs. Jeanne M. Disch, formerly of Norwich, died on July 31, 2005.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Nov. 7, 1921, the daughter of the late Peter and Regina (Magee) Ford. She graduated from St. Vincent's School of Nursing in New York City.

Mrs. Disch was a veteran of World War II, having served as an ensign in the U.S. Navy.

On Oct. 29, 1944 she was married to the late Ellis V. Disch in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mr. Disch died on Aug. 14, 1997.

Mrs. Disch leaves three children, Peter and his wife, Kathleen, of Norwich, Paul and his wif, Betty, of Duxbury, Mass., and her daughter, Jeanne Mary and her husband, Paul Cancro, of Terrytown, N.Y. Mrs. Disch also leaves her grandchildren, Courtney and her husband, Ransom Langford, Ellis, Peter, Lindsay and Lauren Disch, and Regina Paul and Maria Cancro; and one great-granddaughter, Caroline Langford.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Cathedral on Thursday, Aug 4, at 1 p.m. The burial will be private. Friends may call at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jeanne M. Disch may be made to the Backus Foundation, 326 Washington St., Norwich, CT 06360.
