Jeff was born in Norwich on May 13, 1954, the beloved son of Kathleen J. Provencher, of 195 Browning Road, Norwich. He was the brother of John A. Provencher, of Norwich, Cathy Ann (Provencher) Jackson, of Lee, N.H., David F. Provencher, of Preston and Christine M. McCarthy, of Norwich.
In addition to his father, Andre Provencher, of Florida, survivors include his brother-in-law, Michael Jackson, of New Hampshire, and sister-in-law, Judith Provencher, of Preston; aunts, Elizabeth Shefer and Mary Stefon, of Hanover; a nephew, Ian Provencher, of Preston; nieces, Karly and Janet Provencher, of Preston; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was the grandson of the late Theodora McCarthy of Hanover.
Jeff grew up in Baltic and Hanover. He graduated from St. Joseph's School in Baltic, attended St. Bernard's High School in Uncasville, and graduated from Three Rivers Community College.
He was employed in several businesses in Sprague, Norwich, East Haven and Manchester until becoming disabled with Marie Charcot Tooth peripheral neuropathy.
Always an ardent sports fan, Jeff faithfully followed the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and UConn basketball teams. He loved the outdoors, loved to hike, and was an avid reader. He also was a loyal dedicated protector of his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary's Church in Baltic. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Following the Mass, burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Baltic. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Guillot Funeral Home, 75 So. B. St., Taftville.
