Joanne Schrang Obituary
She was born on Sept. 5, 1928, in Long Island City, N.Y., the daughter of Andrew and Marie Antoinette (Sohmer) Ostendorf. Joanne was the widow of Richard George Schrang. Joanne was a retired chemical engineer formerly employed at United Nuclear and CBS Labs in Stamford.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne Schrang (Mitchell Hammer) of Guilford and Richard Schrang (Freda) of Old Lyme; grandchildren, Leslie Anne Sullivan, Tracy Lynn Rajewski, Heather Ashley Schrang and Christopher Mark Liuzzi; and great-grandson, Dylan Sullivan.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Gale Kopko.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
