John Adolf Cardoza

Westerly, R.I. - John Adolf Cardoza, 70, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his wife Marie Cardoza and his family Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026.

He was born in Wurzgebirge, Germany May 5, 1955. He was the son of the late Russell and Ingeborg (Hrach) Cardoza. He proudly served in the Vietnam War in the 504 Infantry as a paratrooper from the 82nd Airborne Division.

He enjoyed driving tractor trailer trucks; he drove for Land O'Lakes Koff Koff egg farm in Bozrah. He also drove the trailer for multiple Pro Mod teams. After driving tractor trailer trucks for 20 years, he retired.

He was predeceased by his father Russell and mother Ingeborg (Hrach) Cardoza. He is survived by his brothers, Lauren and Michael Cardoza; wife Marie E. Cardoza; his step-daughter Michelle Goyette whom he loved like a daughter, her partner Steve Little, their children: Khylee, Lucas, Maisie, and Devon Little; daughter Jennifer Kelley, spouse Jamie Kelley and their children, Zach, Cheyenne and Madaline; and a great-grandchild; daughter Kimberly Cardoza; nephew Josh Cardoza with his wife Alison with their children, Kyle, JJ, Addy; and nephew Stephen Cardoza.

He enjoyed riding his Harley with wife and friends from the New County Hog Groton Connecticut Chapter. He loved going camping with his family. He enjoyed circle track racing; then he got involved in drag racing working and spectating. He loved to travel across the country in his motor home with the Harley in tow. He traveled with his wife and his extended family, Ed and Annette Margnelli. He loved watching his grandchildren, great-niece, and great- nephews play soccer, football, cheerleading and softball. He was also part of the 82nd Airborne Hartford Chapter (Airborne All the Way). He loved to go golfing with his nephews.
