John Sylvester "Jack" Domijan Jr.

Norwich - John "Jack" Sylvester Domijan Jr., 73, of Norwich, passed peacefully July 7, 2025. Born and raised in Montville, Jack spent his adult life in Norwich, where he worked for many years with the City of Norwich Water Department. Later in life, he was a proud member of the Millwright Union.

Jack was a longtime member of the Dream Machine Classics Auto Club, where he bonded over horsepower, polished chrome, and hot rods with a tight-knit group of fellow enthusiasts. Of all the cars he owned, none held a candle to his prized '55 Chevy, which he proudly cruised around in with his beloved late wife, Kathleen (Rothaus) Domijan, riding shotgun. Jack and Kathy shared a love for dancing to oldies music and never missed a chance to hit the dance floor.

He loved gardening, fishing, digging for clams, grilling, and hosting pool parties. Jack had a soft spot for animals and went out of his way to care for neighborhood strays - even building outdoor huts to keep them safe and warm, despite his kids calling him a "crazy cat lady."

Jack is survived by his five children: John "Beau" (Karen) Domijan, Brian (Lisa) Domijan, Keith (Talibah) Domijan, Loreen Domijan and Barbra Domijan; and five grandchildren: Aubrey, Johnny, Isabella, Brian and Keith. He also leaves behind his companion of 20 years, Corinne Renaldi; his sister, Diane Gray; and his lifelong friend and co-parent, Lorraine. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Kathleen; his son, Heath Domijan; his parents, Sophie and John Domijan Sr.; and his brother, Gregory Domijan.

The family extends their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Bride Brook, FCP Live-In, Elmbrook, Gentiva Hospice, and Hartford Health for their care and compassion.

Per Jack's wishes, there will be no public services. Family invites you to join the Walk to End Alzheimer's 10 a.m. Sept. 27, at Ocean Beach Park in New London, in memory of Jack and all those impacted by Alzheimer's.
