John Hamilton Obituary
John had four siblings, Dave Hamilton, Thomas Francis Hamilton III, Michael Hamilton, and Laura Hamilton.
He married Yvonna Hamilton in 1978 and together they raised six children, Chad Hamilton (Jamie Hamilton), Micah Hamilton, Brock Hamilton, Orion Hamilton, Brent Hamilton, Todd Hamilton. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
John graduated from Robert E. Fitch High School in 1973. Then served his country in the United States Navy for three years from 1973 to 1976 where he worked in the boiler room aboard the USS Kennedy. John reached the class of Petty officer third class.
John was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Groton during his children's youth. He also led Cub Scout Pack 3 in New London for a number of years.
John worked at Doncasters Precision Casting, (formerly Wyman-Gordon and Arwoods). He also worked in several departments in The Commissary on the Naval Submarine Base in Groton.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 5, at the Montville VFW post 10060, 91 Raymond Hill Road, Uncasville. Flowers can be sent directly to the VFW for 1 p.m.
