Julie Ann Johnson

Charlestown, R.I. - Julie Ann Johnson, 59, beloved wife of Edward A. Maggs, of Old Mill Road, Charlestown, passed away at the Westerly Hospital Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024.

Born in Westerly, R.I., she was the daughter of Carl H. Johnson Jr. of Sanford, Maine and the late Sandra Johnson.

Julie was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed watching her children play sports, and cherished time spent with her family above all else. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church, and was an avid reader who also loved to write.

Besides her husband Edward, she leaves behind her two children, Alex Maggs and Sierra Maggs, both of Charlestown, R.I.; her stepdaughter Chelsea Kent of Groton; five siblings, Carl H. Johnson III of Uncasville, Larry P. Johnson of Westerly, R.I. and Eric L. Johnson, Steven R. Johnson and Sandra A. Sanquedolce, all of Pawcatuck; as well as two step-grandchildren, Hendrix and Lennon; and stepmother Janice Longfellow of Sanford, Maine.

Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Family and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy at noon Thursday, Oct. 31, at St. Michael Church, 60 Liberty Street, Pawcatuck.
