Kaliope Tsouris Obituary
She was the beloved wife of the late George L. Tsouris. Born in Boston, Mass., on Feb. 1, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Theoni (Georgeou) Lanides.
Kay along with her late husband owned and operated the former Mayflower Tea Room Restaurant in downtown Westerly for many years before retiring. She was proud of her Greek heritage and was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Norwich.
She will be sadly missed by her two children, Thomas Tsouris and his wife, Mary, of Providence, R.I. and Helen (Tsouris) Synodi and her husband, Savas, of Westerly. She also leaves her sister, Anastasia Milner of Winter Garden, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Leonidas "Leo" Tsouris; and an infant daughter.
The Tsouris family will greet relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church, 200 Hempstead St., New London. Burial will follow in River Bend Cemetery, Westerly.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay's memory may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 247 Washington St., Norwich, CT 06360.

I knew Kay and George in the mid 1960s when I was a coop student who lived in nearby Pawcatuck, CT. I ate at their Mayflower restaraunt for dinner each evening. They practically adopted me as their son. I send my sincere condolences to son Tom and daughter Helene. Tom Devon
