Katherine Mellon Obituary

Stonington - Katherine "Kitty" (Woodward) Mellon of Stonington, died Friday, March 30, 2012, after a long illness.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Latham Woodward, she was born in San Francisco in 1938 and remained a long-term resident of that city. Kitty was a board member of Art Services International and the American Friends of the Courtauldt Institute in London.

She is survived by her daughter, Shrevie Hooker Shepherd; son-in-law, Dr. James Shepherd; three grandsons, James, George and Charles Shepherd of Gaborone, Botswana; former stepsons, Richard A. Mellon and Armour N. Mellon of Ligonier, Pa.; a sister, Barbara W. Vickers of Taos, N.M.; and a brother, Bob Woodward of Bend, Ore.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, at Calvary Episcopal Church, Stonington.

Contributions in Kitty's memory may be sent to the Stonington Free Library, P.O. Box 232, Stonington, CT 06378-0232.
