Kathleen Whitford Obituary

Mystic - Kathleen Frances Whitford went home to be with Jesus on March 18, 2017.

Her love for Christ was evident in her hospitality and care for others. Everyone she met became a loved one which is why so many not only called her Kathy, but also Mama. She accepted all with open arms and an open heart, but wasn't afraid to show tough love.

She is predeceased by her mother, Bertha Jankovich, and her biological father, Vincent Fusconi. She will live on through her husband, Alan Whitford, and her three daughters, Anne Tareila and her husband Mark, Maryanne Whitford, and Arianne Whitford. Her remaining family includes her dad, Donald Holdredge, and his children, Susan Souza, Donald Holdredge and William Holdredge. Also, her step-mother, Judith Fusconi, and Kathy's siblings, Vincent Fusconi, Lorraine Trahan, and Saundra Lewis. Besides immediate family, she will forever be remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and church family.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 21, at Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., Mystic. A Celebration Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, at Potter's House Church of God, 500 Sandy Hollow Road, Mystic. All are welcome to then join for a gathering at the Whitford home, 17 Laura Ave., Mystic.

Kathy's one request was that no one wear black. Let us rejoice with her as she rejoices with Jesus.

So sorry for the family's loss. It's so hard to lose a loved one in death. Draw strength from the love of family and friends. May God's loving kindness comfort you and help you through this difficult time. (Psalms 119:76)

There is comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering, but I cannot help too think how many things we could have done together. Kathy's kind soul and giving spirit touched so many and will never be forgotten
