Leah Hogan Obituary
Leah was the daughter of Francis J. and the late Sally Thomas Pavetti. She was raised in Waterford and graduated from the Williams Preparatory School in New London. She graduated from Barnard College with a bachelor of arts in 1986. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Mass. Leah then practiced family law in Stamford for 10 years, was active in the Bar Association and was awarded The American Bar Association Law Day Activity Award. She retired from the Bar to become a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her first son.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Jim, her sons, Jamie and Jack, and her father, Fran. She was predeceased by her mother, Sally Thomas Pavetti.
Leah and her family resided for the past 23 years in the unique coastline village of Rowayton. Leah was active in public service in her community, serving for 12 years on the Pine Point Association Board of Directors, including 10 years as president. She also served as president of the Rowayton School PTA, as a coach for Rowayton School's Odyssey of the Mind teams, and as a member of the Roton School PTC. She most recently served as the president of the Senators Success Fund at Brien McMahon High School, where she was a key figure in the recent approval of a future illuminated LED sign at McMahon.
For all those who were fortunate to have known Leah, she was known as a vibrant, gorgeous, brilliant and articulate woman, and as a strong advocate with a can-do attitude. She was most importantly a dearly loved daughter, wife and mother.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, her family and many friends request that a tax exempt donation to the LED sign at McMahon High School be made at SenatorsSF.com website in her memory.

Leah was a fun loving young teenager when I had the privilege to teach her.- she was just developing into the powerful lady she became as an adult- but even back in those teenage days she had a gleeful mishevieous upbeat approach to life- I am so pleased that she Used her her talent and potential to do so much for her family, friends and community- I am also saddened by the lack of time she had to live her life and see her children evolve in to their adulthood- my condolences to the family and all her friends-

I am so deeply saddened by the news of Leah's passing. I know she is among the angels and in the tender, loving arms of God. I will always remember her as being her children's biggest fan and cheerleader. We all should have had such a wonderful mom. I will always remember the long bus ride talk we had during a fifth grade field trip. Smiles and laughs filled the air that day. It rained ALL day, too but what fun she helped us have..rain and all! What an awesome woman she was inside and out.

Paul & I send our love and deepest sympathy to you Jim and Jamie and Jack. Dad Fran, while we do not know you, I will express condolences to you in person this week. I too was a President and active for years on the PPA Board and Leah was a terrific leader after we moved to a retirement community nearby. This is a loss of a very special person who always energized worthy causes and raised excellent sons of whom she was so proud and rightly so.
