Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1 Garvin Street, New London. A visiting hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London. Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington Street, New London is assisting the family with the arrangements. Aunt Rags and Uncle Paul met my late parents Claree and Joe Green in San Diego, California before I was born in 1949. She is my mother's only friend to tell me that she has known me ever since I was in my mother's womb. Aunt Rags and my mother shared a dear friendship that lasted more than 75 years. As Navy wives and mother's of 7 Ragland children and 8 Greens children they had many common bonds.
When the Ragland family moved to CT, my parents welcomed them into our home and all the parents became uncle and aunt. Both Aunt Rags and my mother out lived their husband. As the years passed Aunt Rags was looking forward to that rare gift of living to be 100. God blessed her to out live my mom and I believe all of her original NL church family. What a Blessing!
To all her precious Children and Family,
Mom is gone, yet, God is with you.
Dad is gone, yet God is still with you.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy does come.
Mother Ragland loved the Lord and believed in salvation through JESUS.
May God give you peace that will carry you through today and your tomorrows.

Mother Ragland is a beautiful soul and loved the Lord. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to know her and to be able to have had many conversations with her. Her company was so enjoyable. She could always make you laugh or feel better if you were sad. I know that I will miss her presence here on earth but plan on seeing her again in heaven! Thank God for her 101 years of life!
