Louis Lanzarotto Obituary

Waterford- It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Louis Victor Lanzarotto, 90, of Waterford, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who peacefully passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025. Louis was born to Bernard Phillip and Alfalda Lanzarotto on Jan. 26, 1935, in Tuckahoe, N.Y.

For 67 wonderful years he shared a loving marriage with his wife, Jeannine Lanzarotto (Girard), his devoted partner and best friend. Together they built a family surrounded by love, diligently managing a household of five children. He was a proud Grandpa to seven grandchildren and cherished his relationships with each.

Louis attended East Pawtucket High School, graduating in 1952. He enrolled at Providence College where he earned his undergraduate degree in Physics in 1956. He then spent the next three decades with a distinguished career as a nuclear engineer including fifteen years at UNC Naval Products in Uncasville.

In between his accomplishments, Louis enjoyed several hobbies, and still made time to appreciate the simple pleasures of life. A multi-faceted handyman, Louis used his technical skills for activities including woodworking and operating small aircraft. He loved sports and was an avid Red Sox and Celtics fan, along with following his alma mater the Providence College Friars. In his downtime, he enjoyed reading, listening to music, and watching a good western movie in his favorite chair.

He is survived by wife Jeannine; daughter Laura Baker and her husband Dewey; son David Lanzarotto and his wife Cindi; daughter Elaine Cabral and her husband Richard; daughter Diane Littlefield and her husband Kevin; and son Marc Lanzarotto and his wife Susan; and his grandchildren, Katie and Emily Lanzarotto, Jamie and Daniel Littlefield, and Mia, Matthew and Ally Lanzarotto.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5, at the Thomas L. Neilan and Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St, Niantic. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Feb. 6, in St. Agnes Church with interment to follow in Jordan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Care and Share of East Lyme in Louis' honor. Condolences may be shared on Mr. Lanzarotto's memorial page at www.neilanfuneralhome.com.
