Louise Murphy Obituary

Groton - Louise Marie Murphy, 85, of Elderkin Avenue, wife of late Joseph P. Murphy, passed away on November 2 at Pendleton Health & Rehabilitation Center, Mystic.

Born on April 7, 1921 in Clinton, she was the beloved daughter of the late Henry John Funk and Lena May (Harris) Funk.

Louise is survived by her sister, Edith Schumann; a brother, Richard Funk and his wife Doris Funk; daughters, Mary Allen and husband James Allen, Sharon Panganiban and Edward Panganiban, Barbara Pescatello, Rose Kessler and husband Dean Kessler, Nancy Wasniewski and husband James Wasniewski, Betty Bonelli and husband Tom Bonelli and Diana Murphy.

Louise is predeceased by her brothers, Henry C. Funk and Edward Funk; sister, Catherine Fanslow; and son-in-law, Steve Pescatello.

Louise leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

There will be a service at 11 a.m. on November 10 at the Chapel of Cedar Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of S.E.CT. Home Care, 179 Gallivan Lane, P.O. Box 902, Uncasville, CT 06382-0902 or Connecticut Humane Society, 169 Old Colchester Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375.

Diana:

I’m so sorry to here about the passing of your Mom. If difficult times lye ahead, remember your family and friends are there. I really never knew your Mom, but she had always showed me courtesy when I came by.
