Lylette L. Macdonald

East Lyme - Lylette L. Macdonald, 74, of East Lyme, and North Fort Myers, Fla., passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born Nov. 20, 1950, in Upper Darby, Pa., Lylette was the daughter of Rolf and Adelaide Longacre Ochsner. She married the love of her life, Robert Macdonald, Oct. 10, 2004, in Waterford.

A proud graduate of St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Lylette built a rewarding career as Director of Training and Programs for the Legrand Corporation. Her dedication and warm leadership touched countless colleagues and friends.

An avid traveler, Lylette loved exploring new places and experiencing different cultures, whether on a far-flung adventure or a weekend getaway. She also shared a deep bond with her beloved dogs, Ella Bella and Sambuca, who were her constant companions and a source of comfort and joy.

Lylette's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; her son, Kurt Macdonald (Cassandra) of Waterford; her daughter, Allison Barrow (Seth) of Chesapeake, Va.; and four cherished grandchildren: Tyler Boyd, Addison Macdonald, and Asher and Jameson Barrow, who brought light to her life. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

Visiting hours and a memorial service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington Street, New London. Burial will be a private family affair.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA, organizations close to Lylette's heart.
