Margaret Griffiths Obituary
She was born June 23, 1924, the daughter of the late Bernard and Mary Dougherty. She was the loving wife of Frank Griffiths for 55 years. He predeceased her in 1999. She lived a life of love, laughter, and happiness and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Peggy was a 50 year communicant of St. Joseph Church in New London.
She was a stay-at-home mother and raised her five children, Mary Weinberg of New London, Barbara (Paul) Rozanski of Kensington, Richard (Linda) Griffiths of Niantic, Bernadette Rita (Joe) Griffiths-Graham of Philadelphia and Lurleen (Ray) Carlson of Quaker Hill. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Bob (Ellie) Weinberg, Randy Weinberg, Katie (Luke) Sander, Paul (Dena) Rozanski, Tim (Jodi) Rozanski, Justine Griffiths, and Erik Carlson. She also leaves her seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan and Jake Weinberg, Amber and Christopher Weinberg, Jack and Audrey Sander, and her great-great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Gaccione.
Margaret was predeceased by a brother, James (Donna); four sisters, Anna Marie (Joe), Katherine (Tommy), Mary (Flip) and Bernadette.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 14, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, in St. Joseph Church.
Mrs. Griffiths' family would like to thank the staff of Harbor Village East for the wonderful care she received for the past year.
