Marguerite Aspinwall Obituary
She was born on Feb. 3, 1917, in Elizabeth, N.J., the daughter of Forrest and Edith Abrew. She was married to Robert A. Aspinwall on Oct. 7, 1939 and was a loving wife to him for 72 years.
She is survived by a son, John F. Aspinwall of Spring Hill, Fla. and Mystic; and two daughters, Carol A. Saumarez of Motcombe, England and Susan E. Aspinwall of New Orleans, La.; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Richmond Hill High School and Drake Business College, N.Y.C., and after a short business career, spent the next 40 years bringing up her children and supporting her husband in his business career. She was active in church work and sang in church choirs for 30 years, she was also on the board of directors of The Connecticut Institute For The Blind, Oak Hill School, and The Farmington Garden Club. She served The American Red Cross as a Grey Lady for 22 years, working in Blood Banks and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of Spring Hill United Church of Christ in Spring Hill, Fla. and The Mystic Congregational Church, Mystic and The Mason's Island Yacht Club.
