Matthew Pillion Obituary
Matt was a graduate of Glastonbury High School, Class of 1999, where he was co-captain of the soccer team and made many lifelong friends. He graduated summa cum laude from Quinnipiac University where he was awarded Best Senior Thesis. He worked in technology sales in several cities including Washington D.C., New York City, Boston, and Naples, Fla.
Matt was a man of deep feeling and immense charm. He was known for his sharp wit, his encyclopedic knowledge of history and politics and a contagious laugh and smile that touched everyone he knew.
Matt loved the beach and enjoyed fishing and boating in Black Point where he spent decades of memorable summers with his family and many childhood friends. Matt will be dearly missed but never forgotten by those that knew and loved him.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his sons, Griffin and Owen; and their mother Kerry Pillion, of Sudbury, Mass.; his sister Kate and husband Ryan Mertel of Portland and daughters, Caroline and Lauren; his brother Jed and wife Jessica Pillion and sons, Jack and Grady, of Stow, Mass.; his godfather Tom McMahon of Cypress, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Matt's name to https://davidlawrencecenters.org/donate-now/our-donors/, David Lawrence Center, 6075 Bathey Lane, Naples, Fla. 34116.

I am deeply sadden to hear of Matty's passing -he was one of daughter's - Christine - dearest of friends in high school - he was one of the most polite and friendliest of fellows - always with a big smile. I can picture him at the senior prom fashion show - he was so handsome! I send all of you my deepest condolences. May he rest in peace.

Such wonderful memories with your family. Getting Blizzards at Dairy Queen and spending time with your big sister Kate at Black Point. Favorite memory of you Matty was when you egged your own house after watching a Nickelodeon episode. Your Mom´s response in disbelief, priceless "Who eggs their own house Matty?". Hope you now rest in peace.

I will always have the fondest memories of Matt. I´m thankful for the time we had together as kids and to be able to watch him become a man that always lit up the room when he came in. I´m so sorry, family, that we won´t have him with us on earth, but my prayers are with the Pillions that God comforts you and that you keep hope that we will see Matt again.
