Meg Raftis Obituary
Meg was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary Academy, Watchung, N.J. She earned a B.A. in English from Dumbarton College, Washington, D.C. in 1962, and an M.A. in art history from the City University of New York in 1990. She was an assistant to well-known writer, Madeleine L'Engle.
Her hobbies included travel, sailing, flying and gardening.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 24, at Calvary Episcopal Church, 27 Church Street, Stonington. A reception in her honor will follow.

I was always a little in awe of Meg. She had a gentleness and comfort with herself that I admired. I also delighted in her sense of humor, and remember sharing many humorous moments.

My deepest sympathy and all my love to all Meg's family and friends and her beloved Stillman. I was so privileged to spend time with her in Stonington with her daughter Annie - my dear friend who left us in 2017.

I had the honor of getting to know Meg when I became one of her caregivers. She was and will remain one of my favorite clients. She was so interesting to talk to and she shared many wonderful stories with me. I am so sad to know that this beautiful, vibrant soul has moved on. Safe travels Meg. May God and His angels light your way. My deepest sympathy to Stillman and her family.
