Michael Turner Obituary
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in St. Paul Church, 170 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. A complete obituary will appear in The Day.

We just heard the terrible news. Katie Turner was my brilliant co-worker at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, and became my dear friend. I will never forget when she first met Mike and told me about "this great guy". I just knew he was the one! We will always remember their big, joyful wedding.... and then there were three beautiful children, busy lives, and keeping in touch via Christmas cards and letters.
Richard and I are shocked and saddened beyond words by this news of Mike´s passing. To Katie, Mikey, Theresa, and Marykate, we send all our love and hugs as you navigate through the loss of your wonderful husband and dad. Love also to Katie and Mike´s larger families.
So sorry my words are so inadequate. Remember that love NEVER ends. May god bless you all.

I just heard of Mikey's passing. He was my neighbor and good friend as a kid growing up. There are so many fond memories I have of us playing...baseball, skateboarding, paint ball games, manhunt at Cedar Hill, hockey on a nearby pond, bike riding all over, trips to 7eleven, walking on ice blocks in Greenwich Bay, building treehouses and forts in the woods, tree hopping, video games, watching the Goonies over and over, and so much more. He was always a light for me and many others bringing joy in ways big and small. My condolences to his family. Needless to say he will be missed but will never leave our memories.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the Turner family. I have such fond memories of family get togethers, where Mike "Toolbox," brought so much joy and laughter. My parents, upon returning from more recent gatherings, would always comment on how impressed they were and what a wonderful person Mike was. Thinking of you all with deepest sympathy.

Sincerest condolences from the Lombardo family. We had the pleasure of watching Mike grow up in our small court in Warwick. He always had a smile on his face and a toolbox in his hands. We've so enjoyed seeing the beautiful family he and Katie created on the Christmas cards we received.
