Mitsue Shimomura Green

Groton - Mitsue S. Green, 75, of Groton, it is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Mitsue Shimomura Green, who passed away Monday morning May 1, 2023, at her residence. Mitsue was born June 9, 1947, in Tokyo, Japan. She married Ralph Green; he survives her.

Mitsue believed she lived an ordinary life. She was unaware how extraordinary she truly was. Many people have said she put up a good fight against cancer, but she didn't fight. Rather, she lived life her way and would not let cancer define her. She was a shining example of amazing grace. May we all strive to approach life with the same tenacity and positivity and carry on like we will see another tomorrow.

Mitsue grew up in a humble and loving family. She led a wonderful life and was a beacon of joy and inspiration to everyone she knew, especially her husband Ralph; children, Dana, Naomi and Masao; and her eight grandchildren. Her life was guided by three simple principles: living in the present, enjoying good food and listening to Elvis Presley . . . every day!!!

The Greens will greet friends and family from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday May 13, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 11 a.m. at the Byles Groton Memorial Home in Groton. For more on Mitsue, donation and service information, please visit www.byles.com.
