She was born March 30, 1953, in Westerly, R.I., the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Bemis) McCord.
Nancy was married to Keith Colwell, CDR, USCG (Ret.) of Pawcatuck. He survives her.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street Groton.
