Norman Scott "Scott" Dahl

Pawcatuck - Norman Scott Dahl, 51, of Pawcatuck, peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his wife and children Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, after a brave four and a half year battle with cancer.

Scott was born Aug. 25, 1974, in Norwich, and was the son of Margaret (Snelling) Dahl and the late Charles Andrew Dahl. He graduated from Ledyard High School, where fate intervened and he met the love of his life, Jeninne (Berendt) Dahl. Their meeting marked the beginning of a partnership rooted in devotion, friendship and enduring love.

Scott will be remembered for his strength, resilience and the quiet determination he showed throughout his life, especially during his illness. He faced each challenge with courage and grace, supported by the love of his family and those closest to him. His presence, sense of humor, and unwavering commitment to the people he loved leave a lasting imprint on all who knew him.

Scott served his country with pride and dedication as a member of the United States Navy from 1992 to 1996, a period in his life that reflected his strong sense of duty, discipline and loyalty. After his honorable service, he continued to build a life of purpose and skill by pursuing higher education. Scott earned an Associate of Science degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning from New England Institute of Technology, equipping him with practical expertise and a strong work ethic that he carried into his professional life. His commitment to both service and lifelong learning exemplified the values he lived by and the legacy he leaves behind.

Scott's dedication, skill, and entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own mechanical contracting business which he named, AmeriTech Contracting, a proud veteran-owned company, it reflected both his professional expertise and his deep sense of patriotism. Scott took great pride in building a business founded on integrity, hard work, and service to others, values that guided him throughout his life and career. AmeriTech Contracting stands as a testament to his determination, craftsmanship and unwavering commitment to providing for his family and community.

Scott was a devoted husband, father and friend whose life was defined by love and quiet strength. He shared 22 meaningful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jeninne, building a home grounded in care, laughter and commitment. Above all else, Scott was a proud and loving father to his two children, Jordyn and Aidin, who were the center of his world and his greatest joy.

He loved ice fishing trips at the lake, where his friends came from near and far and shared stories that created lasting memories. A member of the Groton Sportsman Club, Scott enjoyed time at the range and the camaraderie that came with it. He was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and never missed a chance to cheer them on. Concerts with family and friends and wandering swap meets were among his favorite ways to spend a day, always appreciating good music, good finds, and even better company. These moments - filled with laughter, friendship and passion - are how Scott will be fondly remembered.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeninne; his daughter, Jordyn Schroth, and her husband, Zachary, of Westerly, R.I.; and his son, Aidin Dahl, of Pawcatuck. He is also remembered with love by his siblings, Andrew Dahl, Rebecca Tresch and Kelly Butler; his father-in-law, Michael Berendt, and mother-in-law, Patricia Berendt; his brothers-in-law, Brian Berendt and Timothy Berendt with his wife, Kimberly; and his cherished nephews, Giovanni Del Nero and Benjamin Berendt. Scott's life was also enriched by many dear friends who will fondly remember him.

Scott was deeply loved by all who knew him, and his absence will be felt profoundly by his family, friends, and community. Though his life was far too short, the love, laughter and light he shared will leave a lasting imprint on the hearts of those he touched. He will be missed more than words can express.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare Hospital for their compassionate care, dedication, and support during Scott's final months. Their kindness and professionalism brought comfort and dignity to him and his family during a very difficult time, and their efforts will always be remembered with appreciation.

Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life Reception immediately following the services at one of Scott's favorite places Chester's BBQ, 943 Poquonnock Road in Groton, to honor and remember Scott's life, his joy and the memories he shared with all of us.
