Patricia Haines Obituary
Patricia was born July 20, 1937, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Joseph Adrian and Doris Nickerson McAuley. She graduated from Winthrop High School in 1955 and Lasell Junior College in 1957. She married her husband of 57 years, on May 15, 1960, in Milton, Mass. The couple moved to Groton in 1960 and purchased their first home in Mystic in 1962.
In 1973, Patricia opened the Queen's Taste Antiques Shop in Olde Mistick Village, which she operated until 1979 when the demands of family life led her to sell the business. She was a charter member of the Mystic Junior Women's Club and also active in Child and Family Services and the American Red Cross.
Survivors in addition to her husband include Scott H. Haines of Mystic and Kent D. Haines (wife, Lisa) of North Kingstown, R.I.; as well as granddaughter, Abigail Haines; and grandson, Zachary Haines. She is also survived by her beloved Shih-Tzu, Patty Cake.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Robert McAuley; and her canine pals, Suzette, Maxine and Duchess.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Road Church, 903 Pequot Trail, Stonington, followed by a reception at the Bishop's Cove Clubhouse on Long Wharf Drive in Mystic.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to the Patricia M. Haines Memorial Fund at the New Hampshire Humane Society, Meredith Center Road, Laconia, NH 03246.
The Mystic Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
