Paul Gorra Obituary

New London - Paul Edward Gorra of New London, and formerly of Quaker Hill, entered eternal life Feb. 23, 2024, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Paul was born May 8, 1981, in New London, the son of Gary Gorra of Quaker Hill, and the late Deborah (Romeo) Gorra.

He attended local schools in Waterford, and graduated from Waterford High School, Class of 1999. He graduated from Fairfield University in 2003, where he earned a degree in accounting. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served one deployment to Iraq. He recently worked as the facilities director for the Pridwin Hotel, Shelter Island, Long Island, N.Y., until his illness. From the time of his youth, he was a gifted athlete. Playing baseball in Waterford North Little League, a standout athlete at Waterford High School in varsity baseball, and basketball and football where he was an All-State player. He later played football and baseball at Fairfield University.

Besides his father, he is survived by his beloved son Henry Gorra; and mother Claire Gorra of North Haven; his siblings, Kyle and Lauren Gorra and children, Greyson, Hallie and Keegan, Ryan and Sarah Gorra and children, Mason and Cooper, Jena and David Gorra-Patenaude and son Knox.

Paul's funeral services are private. Please make donations in his memory to the Cactus Jack Foundation, P.O. Box 145 Waterford, CT 06385. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London, has been entrusted with his care.

Played football with Paul at Fairfield, and roomed with him for a year. Great guy. Always laughing, loyal, loved his family. My prayers and condolences to his friends and family.
