Paul Hublard Obituary

Manchester - Paul John Hublard passed away on Oct. 2, 2008.

Paul was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Manchester. He is predeceased by his father, Paul E. Hublard, and his mother, Nerina (Vichi) Hublard.

Paul was a graduate of Manchester High School and the Porter School of Engineering Design. He was employed with the Travelers Insurance in Hartford for 23 years before taking an early retirement in Dec. of 1992. Following retirement he became the owner/operator of Paulie's LaCucina Expresso Restaurante in Manchester. After selling the restaurant, Paul worked for over eight years as the Club Manager for the Groton Lodge of Elks in Groton, before retiring two years ago.

He was a member of the Westerly Yacht Club, the Calabrese Society and a life member of the Westerly Lodge of Elks. Paul was very proud of his association with the Elks and was especially proud of being elected as the Elk of the Year in both the Manchester Lodge and the Westerly Lodge of Elks. He was always there to volunteer to handle the cooking for many Elks Lodge events throughout his years as a member.

He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching their games on television or listening to them while sitting on his deck at Misquamicut Beach and he was overjoyed at the Sox winning the World Series last year.

Paul leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Roberta (Russell) Hublard, a son, Paul R. Hublard of Westerly, R.I.; a daughter, Deanna Frankovitch and her husband, Anthony of Manchester; and two grandsons, Bryan and Jason Frankovitch. He also leaves his sister, Nancy (Hublard) Poulin and her husband, Gerard Poulin of south Windsor; a niece, Alison (Poulin) Sinacola of Manchester; a nephew, Brett Poulin of Tolland, Conn. and their families; as well as numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Paul was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, RI. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday in the Church of St. Clare, Misquamicut. Burial will be in River Bend Cemetery, Westerly.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made either to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445; or to the March of Dimes, 260 West Exchange St., Suite 002, Providence, RI 02903 in Paul's memory.
