Pearl Kogut Obituary
She was the wife of the late Richard Kogut.
She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, Nov. 19, 1932. She was a former waitress at the Ferry Tavern Restaurant in Old Lyme and the Dock and Dine Restaurant in Old Saybrook.
Pearl loved birds, gardens, and loved her yard sales.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Davis of Montville, and Moria Hughes of Scotland; a brother, Dudley Walker, and a sister, Agnes Conlin, both of Scotland. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jeri Chiarizio, Justin Falla, Robert Eldridge, and Connor McCall; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and four nieces, Senga, Lorraine, Margaret, and Karen (who helped care for her this past year). She leaves behind two special friends, Betsy and Linda.
She is predeceased by two daughters, Shirley Haeckel and Lorraine Eldridge; and a granddaughter, Christine Eldridge.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Duck River Cemetery in Old Lyme.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Carl Swan of Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Ave., Hamden.

Don't even know where to start lost the two most important woman in my life last year. But I'm happy they are both resting peacfully no longer in pain together. I will miss you both for the rest of my life thank you for making me the man I am today. I've known Pearl and her family as long as I can remember. I loved visiting with her on Buttonball Rd and have many fond memories. Pearl came to visit when I lived in Hawaii some years ago and again to Omaha after my mother moved here. Pearl will be dearly missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Pearl had one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know. She was upfront and honest and you knew where you stood with her. She had a wonderful laugh and a wisdom you don't often see. Pearl had a curiosity about people and life that was infectious. We will miss her greatly.

Pearl has been my dearest friends for more than forty years. We'e shared many special memories together. I am blessed to have shared her family with her. I love them like my own. I will miss her.
