Peter Wilson Obituary

Groton - Peter C. Wilson of Groton, passed away peacefully June 19, 2024. Peter was born Aug. 17, 1948, in New London, as the eldest child of his parents, Luther Wilson and Gilda Tallevi Wilson.

After high school, Peter graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. He continued his education at Smith College in Massachusetts where he received his master's degree in music theory. Peter volunteered for numerous charities and dedicated his life to the selfless service of helping others. Peter was a passionate patron of dramatic arts and spent some of his happiest years teaching drama at Mitchell College.

A man of lifelong devout faith, Peter was a charitable benefactor to the mission of the Catholic church. He was also an avid reader, often engaging friends and family in thought provoking discussions about religion, current events, politics and his beloved British TV shows.

Peter is predeceased by his brother Michael Wilson and his sister Wendy Strong. Peter is survived by his two youngest brothers, Steven Wilson of Salem and Scott Wilson of New London, their spouses, and his nieces and nephews.

Peter's family would like to extend their immense gratitude to the staff of the Groton Regency for the amazing extended care provided during his time there as a resident.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Montauk Avenue, New London. Interment will be at a later date.
