Richard Joseph Obituary

Mystic - Richard L. Joseph, 84, of Mystic, son of the late Charles and Virginia (Bogue) Joseph passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

A 1959 graduate of Fitch High School, Richard worked as a body shop foreman at Brustolon's in Mystic for 19 years, and then worked as a millwright at Pfizer in Groton until his retirement.

Richard is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Gwen Joseph; his stepdaughter Michelle Edwards and step-granddaughter, Payton Edwards. Also surviving is his former wife, Beverly Morrone and their children, Richard Joseph, James Joseph (Stewart) and Karen Wilson (David). He also leaves his grandchildren: Chase Rowe (Diane), Joshua Joseph, Bailey Joseph, Nicholas Wilson, Katelyn Wilson and Brayton Wilson. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Visiting Nurses Association, 403 N. Frontage Road, Waterford CT 06385 or Connecticut Humane Society, 169 Old Colchester Road, Quaker Hill CT 06375.

May Heaven have lots of boats, calm seas and beautiful sunsets for this kind and loving man.
