Richard Roy Obituary
Richard worked as an electrical engineer at Electric Boat.
Richard will be sadly missed by his three daughters, Debbie (Wes) Gunter, Darcie (Dan) Flight and Denise Roy; three stepdaughters, Lynda (Jim) McAuliffe, Lisa (Mike) McGee and Cheryl (Todd) Jackson; his dog Sebastian, his granddog Charlie; and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 19, at Groton Bible Chapel, 66 Toll Gate Road in Groton. For more on Richard and donation information, please visit www.byles.com.

From the first time I met Dick in January 1981 he struck me as a true gentleman and trustworthy person. From that point on he proved to be an outstanding supervisor and mentor throughout the first half of my career at Electric Boat always guiding me down the best career path. Having the privilege of Knowing Dick on a personal level outside of work at a softball game or backyard picnic was when one would experience his zest for life and dedication to family. Our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and friends whom we know will sorely miss him.

It is with great sadness that we learned of Dick’s passing. We enjoyed seeing his big smile when he visited the Ledyard Senior Center to play cribbage.

A big part of my life growing up. Dick and his family were a part of my family. A good man and a good friend who will be sorely missed. To Deb, Darcie and Denise myself and Dodie offer our condolences and prayers. These words have comforted me in the past. I hope they do the same for you. Love to you all:
