Richard Simpson Obituary

Groton - Richard J. Simpson, 78, of Groton, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, April 27, 2025. He was born Sept. 29, 1946, in New London, the son of Chet and Marguerite (Perkins) Simpson.

Richard proudly served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam war. He was married to MaryGail (Gottschalk) Simpson, of Groton. She survives him.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street, Groton. Burial is private. A full obituary will appear in a future edition of The Day.
